Summer Time

Officially summer has started.

Boo finished nursery last Friday, but BB still had school on Monday and Tuesday of this week, although it was a beach visit on Monday and a day of movies and picnics yesterday so it wasn’t hard work but he was still at school.

So today is our first official summer holiday day!

And it has started well, with no one waking up before 8.30am this morning and the boys completely chilling catching up on their you tube videos that they haven’t watched for ages this morning.

Today is a chill out day.

I have a rule in our house that the first day we never do anything. They need a day to recover from school, and this week will be a total chill out as we are waiting for the car to go into the garage on Friday so we really wont be doing a lot because it doesn’t sound that great.

But we don’t really have many plans this summer!

We provisionally have plans to see some friends but nothing set in stone, we will be going away at the end of the holiday but haven’t actually got anything else planned at the moment, which is a shame as the caravan really is having a quite year, but currently it is far too hot to take the dogs anywhere and they are our priority at the moment.

So our summer is set to be chilled, hopefully when the car is totally fixed, there will be beach days, visiting some towns, a trip to London at some point I am sure and just some nice days out that aren’t rushing about, that are what we all want to do and will be creating memories at the same time.

But the summer also means having to work around the children.

I generally end up doing a lot of my work in the evenings when I have the kids at home, I may even attempt to get up super early a couple of days (I say attempt as I am not a morning person really) but I can see how I could use this time to my benefit so I may attempt it a couple of days and do some of my work before the boys even wake up.

Work doesn’t slow down, but the way I work definitely changes in the holidays, it is more online based. As I have said I seem to do a lot more work in the evenings, there are more personal posts, of us actually using Tropic rather than posts with a lot of information.

But I still do just as much work, just in a different way.

Which is something I love about working for myself and from home.

This summer I would like to have a little tackle of our toys to see what is actually played with and what isn’t I think there are quite a few things that can be sold one or even chucked away as I am sure somethings have broken but have been thrown into the bottom of the box and have been forgotten about.

I want to get on top of these this summer, as we are trying to move, but obviously this could happen at any time, but once the boys are back in school it is BB’s birthday in October and Boo’s birthday in December and then Christmas and if the toys aren’t sorted before then then we literally have no where for any of the new stuff to go!

So we will gradually be having a sort out, and trying to make it as easy as possible without too much stress!
