Shopping At Boots #cbias

Last week Baba had another cold, we went through all our supplies.

We are vigilant with colds in this house, having suffered two convulsions, we really do not take any chances. Every time he is ill, it hits with a temperature first, and with a cold a temperature seems to be the one thing that does not disappear until he is totally 100% better. So we used a lot of medicine last week, we were in desperate need for some more, but also desperately needed to get out of the house. Baba and I had been stuck indoors for over a week and we really were getting sick of the sight of each other and the walls in our house.

So once we found out Monster’s Inc was on at the cinema we decided that it was a must to go, and the cinema is so near to Boots it was an even better idea.

I love Boots, always have. It has always been the pharmacy that we have used.

I have many memories of nipping in there with my Nan when I was younger to get things, and my own mum it was the place to get all our medicines and my Nan would not shop anywhere else. Over the years the things I have needed from Boots have changed dramatically but it always seems to cover what I have needed. When I was a teenager, it was great for my skin care, makeup and beauty needs. It has always been the place to get the best nail polishes, and always the place to stop off in before your big holiday.

Our local pharmacies are literally pharmacies. They do medicine and maybe a few baby products and that is all. So Boots has always been the place that we have gone, it has all the other things that you may need.

The fact that I can get all my household essentials, such as hair stuff, medicines, and even flea drops for the dogs, and some snacks while getting my photos printed instantly is an absolute must for me, being a scrapbooker.

There has been many a day in my life that I have been in the middle of making an album, or even worse a present for someone on the day that they are supposed to have it, and have messed up a picture. This has meant a mad dash down to Boots to get that all important picture printed to get that present completed and ready for their birthday. This has been used far too many times.

But since having Baba I have used Boots so much. We used to get all of his nappies and wipes from there. Boots have always had the best range of Huggies wipes near us, and Baba for some strange reason was only ever ok with Huggies wipes. All others used to send him into a rash so we spent a lot of time down there.

We have also brought clothes in there, since they have started to stock children’s clothes. This was an added addition to Boots that I was very excited about. As it meant when Baba was little that I literally could go shopping and get all the things that he needed in one store. It was easy especially in an emergency when he was tetchy and you didn’t want to keep him out screaming for too long!

Since Baba started to have convulsions. I don’t mess with medicine, maybe I should but I really don’t. When he first had a convulsion, he was given Calpol and Nurofen and that is what I have stuck with ever since. But Baba is a little fussy, he only likes Orange Nurofen and luckily for us Boots stocks this flavor in all the various sizes, and they always have loads of Calpol and Nurofen in stock so I know that I am safe to go there to get what I need when I need it.
