Dear Rhianna

I miss having the chance to bring you up in this world but I’m sure Uncle Dave is doing a sterling job teaching you the wonders of life. I’m sure your up there watching over us alongside Uncle Dave laughing at how sad we are and thinking just get on with it.

Baba misses you and often sends you balloons I’m sure you love them. We have a star named after you which is very cool and we all love.

If you lose a child it’s like someone tearing a piece of your heart out what ever their age, but remember they will always be watching over you all, and they know you love them and will never forget them as they will never forget you.

Dear Rhianna Lily,

I didn’t know your Mummy when you were born – I knew your Daddy well and he was one of my best friends. I feel sad that I didn’t know her sooner.

I was not familiar with death until the year of your birth – you were clearly too precious to stay on this earth for long, you were needed in a higher plain. I watched your Daddy struggle with losing his beautiful little girl and my heart broke for him.

It was only a few months later that I lost my soulmate Dave, your Uncle Dave, your Daddy’s best friend. I hate that he isn’t here but if there is a reason that he had to go, to look after his best friend’s little girl and help her grow, then that’s fine with me.

Since we lost Dave your family has become one of the most important parts of my life – your Mummy is beautiful and strong and brave and your Daddy is funny and passionate and loves your family. Your brother is crazy, energetic, creative and handsome. You are a light that shines above all 3 of them.

I might not have known them when they lost you but I know them now and you are always present in my thoughts, along with your Uncle Dave.
