My New Best Friend…

Well actually it’s me new hell, but I am determined to make it my new best friend.
I am not a naturally sporty person, I don’t have great coordination and I do not like doing exercise in front of other people.
However if I buy exercise DVD’s they sit on the shelf and never get used.
I need something that is staring me in the face and that I can’t get away from and can’t ignore.
We saw that this exercise bike was up for sale, and it was very cheap because the dial doesn’t work but everything else works. So Mr L and I decided to get it.
The fact that it takes up a huge amount of space in my lounge means that I use it as I hate the amount of space it takes up.
However getting on it was a scary experience.
As there is no dial we can only go on the time that we manage to be on there for and let’s just say I am incredibly unfit.
When I first got on the bike I could do five minutes and that knackered me for the whole day.
I gradually built myself up to do five minutes on the bike every few hours, and then Sunday I managed to do 10 minutes on there on one hit. By this time I was still only using the bike as adding the arms into the exercise completely kills me (told you I was knackered).
Today I managed to do 10 minutes again, and this time after the 8th minute I managed to do the arm section as well. This is a huge thing for me as I haven’t done any exercise since before having Baba apart from walking the dogs. So I am unfit I know I am unfit and I am gradually trying to do a little more every day and build it up so that I can get on top of my weight and exercise levels.
I have decided that the best way to do that is to build little goals, so my first goal is to be able to be on the bike for a whole 30 minutes, one whole soap show. I am not talking about doing the arms as well I am just aiming to bike for 30 minutes solid, when that happens I will move onto my next goal.
How did you start getting into fitness?

You can do it!!! Great start…rooting for you.x
Thank you am determined xx
I have been trying to up my steps each day……….unsuccessfully!!
I am determined, but an old back problem keeps flaring up, which puts me back on a walking stick. Next week I am going to suck up my insecurities and go swimming! *gulp*
