Moonlight Walk
Mr L and myself and a few friends have all signed up for a 10 mile Moonlight Walk for our local hospice St Wilfrid’s. We all have personal reasons and we all want to help the hospice as much as possible.
It is a wonderful homely place that looks after people with cancer, motor neurone disease and other terminal illnesses. It has been open since 1987 and in that time it has helped over 10,000 patients however as with all these places the running costs are huge. Just this year alone the running costs will be over £5 million which equates to £14,000 a day! They only get funding for 15% of this cost leaving them having to raise the cost themselves. That is a huge amount to raise.
So please do help if you can. We are slightly mental, in the fact that none of us walk hugely and we have signed up for a 10 mile walk in 23 days. Yes I did say 23 days. The walk starts at midnight on the 17th June 2011!
So we are basically going from couch potatoes to ten mile walkers in less than a month! Wow! I know mental, but as I said we are all determined and we all have personal reasons. We have all had people close to us that have used St Wilfrid’s and want to help as much as possible.
I know money is tight and that everyone is feeling the pinch but if any of you could find it in yourselves to just donate a little we would all be eternally grateful. We have a Virgin Money Fundraising page, and please if you want to pass this on to your friends and link wherever you can I would also be grateful.
Thank you all so much.

Wow, respect! Good luck Kerry.
