Looking After Me and My Skin
Since joining Tropic I have got more and more into my skincare.
I look at everything that I put on my skin, and am really aware of what is in the products.
But it doesn’t stop there since joining Slimming World I am more aware of what I am putting into my body as well as what I am putting on the outside.
It is a thing that the whole family are involved in as well.
We are all eating less crap, and less junk food, we are by no means perfect but we are trying our hardest.
We are also doing more exercise, the boys are riding their bikes and I am joining a gym! Live is a little different to how it used to be, and we are seeing the benefits.
But it still doesn’t stop there.
I was reading the other day that there are six daily activities that you should be doing every day to help your skin be the best it can be!
These are taking of your make up every evening, that is a given I do that every single day! And clean my face again in the morning, thanks to Tropic.
Eating fresh fruit and vegetables, which we are doing by the bucket load, due to us being on Slimming World and trying to shift the excess weight that we have put on over the years.
Protecting your skin from the sun with an SPF, again thanks to Tropic we do this all the time, and have endless amounts of SPF 50 and 30 in our house! To be honest, since BB was born, I have been on top of this for all of us, as he is so fair and such a massive red head, that he has to be protected all the time.
Walking in the fresh air, we are out and about most days to be honest, whether it is school runs, dog walks, bike rides, or just a general bit of shopping, we are always mooching, so this one is fine.
Drinking 8 glasses of water a day. This I fail at massively, I am not a great water drinker. I actually don’t like water, I find it really hard to swallow without any type of squash in at all. So I do have to have a little squash in any drink I have, but I am more inclined to make a cup of coffee rather than a glass of squash.
It is something that I have to change, and I am really aware that I have to change it so this week I am really trying. I have my bottle filled, and I have it next to me, and am trying my hardest to drink at least four of these a day, they are bigger than a glass so shouldn’t need eight of them. I am hoping that I can crack this lack of drinking as I know that it doesn’t help me or my skin to be honest.
The last thing is to sleep 6-8 hours a night.
Now this I massively fail at.
I have always failed massively with sleep, I am a proper night owl. I have good intentions of going to sleep early and then suddenly it is 1am and I am still pottering with a good hour or so left of what I am doing.
And I pay for it.
I am tired a lot of the time.
When I am tired I want chocolate, when I eat chocolate I get bad skin, it is a loop I get stuck in.
So it is something that needs to change. Massively.
Last night I went to sleep at 11, but I had an awful nights sleep.
So this morning I have decided that I want to be in bed by 11pm every night this week, and I am going to restart using my So Sleepy spray from Tropic, I shall write about it more after a couple of days, but I know this has helped me and BB sleep in the past, so I am determined to get it out and start using it again.
Sleep and water intake are two things I need to get on top of and I am determined to make some serious changes to get on top of them both, and that will hopefully help me to have the best skin I can possibly have!
