Kitchen Unit Upcycle

I love buying old unwanted furniture and upcycling it and making it unique to our house.

This year we have done a lot of new projects in the house, and finally putting a proper stamp on the house.

After 7 years it really is feeling like a home rather than just a house.

This unit is just one of those projects.

This up for a sale on a selling site in our area, for just £5.00. It was something that I couldn’t refuse and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.

I measured the space and it was going to be a perfect addition to my craft room, a great place to store all of my albums and scrapbooking supplies.

However once we got it home, it didn’t fit up the stairs!

I was gutted, but after a quick look at the unit in the kitchen Mr L managed to move that unit into the craft room and we moved this unit into the kitchen.

At first I wasn’t sure

I really wanted it for the craft room

But then it was painted

And the back of the shelves were wall papered.

And I feel in love with it.

The look of the unit completely changed.

It was never meant for the craft room, it fitted in the kitchen perfectly and that was where it was always supposed to be.

Once it was painted I loved it, once it was filled with our things on it I adored it.

It is now a massive feature in our kitchen and I am even more desperate to change the furniture in our lounge now to match what I have started.
