In Under Two Weeks
In under two weeks the boys will be on their summer holidays.
Little man will have finished year 1 and big man will have finished Primary.
I don’t feel I am ready for any of this at all.
I think with lockdown the year has whizzed by and suddenly our first boy is walking out of Primary for the last time.
They have missed out on loads this year, but the school I have to say are being amazing at adapting and their last couple of weeks are full of activities all socially distanced and keeping within the rules.
He is ready and excited.
I am not sure I am either.
I am not sure where the years have gone and how we suddenly have a soon to be high school kid.
I knew I wasn’t ready.
However today it was confirmed when their school reports arrived and I nearly cried my eyes out just reading his.
It is the end of an era for him
It sounds so silly I knew it was coming but somewhere I suppose I was in denial.
Then his leavers jumper came.
Then the activities came.
There is no denying it now.
In less than two weeks that’s it Primary school is done for him
I can’t be in denial about it anymore.
He isn’t a baby any more.
He isn’t a child.
He will in less than 14 days no longer be a primary echo kid.
He is moving closer to the big wide world.
And somewhere over the next couple of days his mum needs to catch up.
I am not ready.
I am so not ready!
