Hello August

I can not believe it is the first of August already, I know u sound like my mum, but this year is flying by!
I love August it is by far my favourite month of the year.
Mainly because it is the month where we have no school ever.
We do everything at our own pace, in our own time, doing our own thing.
And I love that about this month.
If we could have Mr L at home for the month as well the month would be amazing.
A thing I have always wanted to do for August is hire a camper van and just mooch around the country different places every couple of days and just explore with the boys.
One day we will achieve it.
But for this year we will settle with our holiday in the middle of the month and chill for the rest of the month.
August is the month where the boys have no set bedtimes, they have no set wake up times and they just recover from school and prepare for the next year.
In previous years, I have let that happen but have also filled us up with plans and visiting and seeing people.
I haven’t done that this year.
I remember the first summer after his first year at school for BB was tiring he was so tired and shattered and we didn’t do masses of stuff as Boo was still a baby so I have done the same this year for Boo. And it has worked well as BB is going into year six and it’s a big year at primary so I think he needs the chill time too.
And they really are needing it.
They are sleeping a lot, catching up on sleep that they have missed the last few months for sure.
Both of the boys love a lay in and just a week into the holidays them getting up before 9 is becoming a rarity. Today they both emerged at 9.30.
But they clearly need it so that is fine.
We aren’t making huge plans for the mornings and when they get up they are having slow mornings having their breakfast chilling out and just being a little calmer before they start the day.
It is needed and it makes August so much nicer.
Our plans for this month are to enjoy the slower pace, recharge and just see where the mood takes us on most days!
