Grief Isn’t Just Pain

Something I have learnt over the years is that grief isn’t just pain.
Grief comes in so many different forms and you never know what it will be or how it will hit.
It isn’t just pain and tears.
It’s anger.
It’s hurt.
It’s brain fog.
It’s standing in a supermarket and not knowing why you are in there.
It’s waking up in the morning and not knowing what you need to do.
It’s laying in the dark so so tired, but not able to sleep.
It’s hating the dark.
It’s hating the silence.
It’s hating company.
It’s hating the noise.
It’s wanting silence.
It’s wanting company.
It’s so many differences.
It’s so many contradictions.
It’s so many similarities.
It’s not predictable.
It’s not easy.
It’s never ending.
It’s never disappearing.
It’s always there.
It’s always lurking.
It’s always ready to take over.
It’s waiting to control your every moment.
It’s not just pain.
It’s so much more.
