Going Backwards To Go Forwards

We had a lovely weekend. We have been so busy and manic in our house at the moment that I don’t actually remember the last time Mr L and I sat down and talk.

For the last however many weeks he has been taking Baba to bed and has been going to bed himself I have then been up writing, and making until the early hours of the morning. We are like ships that pass in the night, and it has begun to get to both of us. I think we were beginning to feel a little like robots to be honest, as we literally weren’t doing anything together, or anything that was fun.

This weekend we had a friends 50th to go to and we had lots of visiting to do for Mothers Day so we knew we were going to be busy. I had decided that I wasn’t going to put my computer on all weekend as we had so much to do, as well as all of this we had to sort out all of the house. So it was going to be busy.

Saturday we went shopping got ready and had Mr L’s mum round to look after Baba and went out. Beforehand I don’t think that either one of us actually wanted to go. But once we got there it was lovely. It really was like we used to be. We had a great time and lots of laughing Mr L was being the non stressed idiot that he always was and that he had lost along the way. It was fun and silly and we both felt brilliant after.

Yesterday we had a great day too, all be it Mr L being a little hung over! We went to his mums, and my mums and I got thoroughly spoilt. We played with all the children, Baba got to see all his cousins in one day and he had a fantastic time, running around playing football collecting snails. You name it he did it yesterday.

It was a lovely chilled weekend and something I think we are going to try to do more off. Both Mr L and I have an awful tendency to get wrapped up in the negatives of our lives, the what we owe here, how we can’t do this, or have to do this bit of work as its the most important thing. But it isn’t just laughing and having a bit of fun are the most important things, and sometimes the things we forget the most.

We have two good weekends, one a family one, and one with a little bit of just me and Mr L time, and I think they are both so important. It is fantastic having lovely family days just the three of us and it is I love them, but Mr L need our time too and this is something we really need to work on in the future!
