First Lockdown Weekend Of November

During the week this months lockdown is a little strange, the boys are still at school, we are both working and I am having to do the school runs.

Its the weekends we are more affected, when we are all in and things such as the boys scouts etc is all cancelled.

This we the first weekend we had of this November lockdown and even though Mr L and I weren’t feeling 100% yesterday it was actually a lovely weekend.

I baked, something I feel like I can now do after deciding to have a bit of a Slimming World break, no it wasn’t always healthy stuff but it was nice stuff.

Well everyone except Boo thought so anyway. He wasn’t too impressed with anything I made this weekend.

I did a toad in the hole from scratch, I made a filo egg and bacon pie and did some homemade bacon and cheese twists. He didn’t really like any of them. BB, Mr L and I all loved them, BB loved them so much he actually questioned whether I made the bacon and cheese twists as they looked like they were shop brought. High praise indeed.

I read, the boys wrote stories and Mr L got out some Warhammer items and attempted to paint them!

I also finally managed to have another go at some paper cutting something I have wanted to do for a while but we are always so busy it has never really happened.

The boys were also creative, colouring in some pieces from their scouts and Beavers for Rememberance Day yesterday.

We displayed everything in the window and at 11am yesterday they stood on our doorstep, in their uniforms and did their two minute silence as no normal Rememberance service happened this year.

We also went walking taking the dogs out for long strolls around our local area.

The kids love to explore these areas and never ever get tired of walking around them.

It is always a good place to let of steam and get everyone out for some fresh air.

We tidied the house, we caught up on the washing, we all caught up on sleep and we chilled and rested.

It was a lovely weekend and one I hope to replicate for the next few weekends.

If nothing else lockdown let’s us appreciate what we have around us, with the people we are locked down with and our local surroundings.

The slowness of the weekend has also given me time to have a little think about a few things so there maybe a few changes around here so watch this space as they say!
