Day Off

Yesterday I had a most of the day off the computer I wrote my post in the morning, got Baba ready for school. Came home sorted the house and just about finished before I had to collect Baba again.

Went fully expecting lots of little bags of clothes, and he came out in the exact same outfit he went in! Whoop whoop he had asked for the toilet every time he needed it. Now why does he not do that for us??

After we had done a little shopping we went to feed the ducks and saw a gorgeous little duck family, all lined up on the waters edge fast asleep with lots of babies. Baba is really going to enjoy going down there regularly to watching the babies grow up so that is our next few weeks sorted! We soon left after we show the babies as most of the ducks were sleeping and weren’t that interested in the bird food!

Once we were home we had an afternoon in the garden, Baba played with the rabbits, and collected some snails. Pure boy my son, loves bugs and insects. While he was content sitting on his trampoline with some stones, rocks and pegs and watching the snails move from one to the other, I managed to sand down one chair and a half of the other, before the sander broke! Was not happy about that as I still have two and a half chairs to do.

We stupidly left our furniture outside untreated all winter and it has gone disgusting, so I have decided rather than spend money we don’t have buying new when in all honesty ours is absolutely fine I am going to restore them instead. Which is what I have been doing the past few weeks, so I was happy to get a bit more done. But we still have a way to go, new sander at the weekend I think.

So all in all we had a busy but productive day, I cleaned out the rabbits and walked the dog as well! Busy busy.

But the one thing that I wanted to do was craft, and it was the one thing that never happened. I am getting so frustrated with this, I did manage a quick go at digital scrapbooking but that was all. I have a craft business and am a craft writer and never find time to craft! Something wrong there isn’t there!

It is a bit like a drug my crafting if I don’t get a chance to do it I get a bit grumpy, I am desperately keeping on top of everything else so that I theoretically should have time to craft! But that time always seems to disappear. I am getting that desperate to have a good chance at crafting that I am tempted to send Mr L and Baba away so I can have a whole couple of days just to dedicate to craft!

Would that be awful of me? Maybe but how lovely it would be…

  • I love that if you dont do craft you get grumpy–that shows how much you love it and thats so cool to see!

I too had greying, disgusting wood patio furniture left out all winter… and yes, I decided no point buying new when I could simply oil this myself…But it takes ages! I’m finished now, and it does look better and it will last longer and yes it was much cheaper, but it took way longer than I expected!

Dont you love productive days like that? Even if you didnt get to do any crafting youve achieved!

    • I do love productive days feel better about things that is for sure!

Our garden furniture is taking longer than I thought as well have to be honest, but I shall get there.
