Christmas Cards

Christmas Cards are a minefield every year in this house, do we make them, do we buy them. Once we have decided that is one of the parts of Christmas that I do enjoy. Sitting down a couple of nights in a row, writing them, addressing them and sending them off.

However this year they have been a complete and utter stress.

What do you put in a Christmas card when you have a child not here?

Do you add their name?

Do you not add their name?

Neither felt right, if we add her name, we thought others would get upset, if we don’t add her name we would get upset as she is part of our family. She deserves to be on there.

So then we thought about a little thing added to the cards, a heart, a star or a stamp of her feet. All were possibilities and all were hard to decide on.

In the end we went with none of them, in the end after lots of thoughts we decided that we wanted Rhianna to make a difference, so instead of cards this year we have set up a memorial page for Rhianna, and we are donating the money we would spend on cards to Tommy’s, the baby charity to aid their research into miscarriage and stillbirth.

We aren’t expecting others to donate, but people have asked us what we would like them to do for Rhianna for Christmas and this is what our answer would be, lets help Tommy’s research more into miscarriage and stillbirths and let’s make a start on helping them. We would also like to say a massive thanks to people who have already donated! It really means the world and we are eternally grateful as her Mummy, Daddy and big Brother!
