Buddy, Buddy, Buddy!
Lots of things have been happening at home while I have been having a blogging break. Mostly organising and redecorating and a lot of it not great news.
But there has also been a little addition to our household in the form of Buddy!

Buddy is a 15 month old beagle, that we heard about from a friend of a friend who needed rehoming. He was a tad destructive in his old home, and his previous owners were working long hours and he was left on his own A LOT! So they had decided that the best thing for him was to rehome him.
It came to light a week after we had lost Mr L’s best friend and to be honest since Tito has been about a year old Mr L has wanted another dog, so he instantly said yes. It didn’t take long and within a couple of days Buddy was at ours and here too stay.
He has a few issues, he is very anxious about being left, and literally howls, whines and barks the house down when you first get home from being out. He didn’t ask to go to the toilet when he arrived, but he came from a home with a dog flap and he didn’t seem to have any food etiquette. As in sitting and waiting for food to be put on the floor, he would just lunge for it.
But with just a couple of weeks behind him he has learnt these things, he sits beautifully for his food, and he has worked out that Tito scratches the door to go out for a wee and that is now what he does. But we still have a long way to go, the noise when we come home has decreased but has also got louder so I am not 100% sure how we will tackle that but we will get there.
He seems to like venturing into next door’s garden lucky we know them so well, so we have a little hole that needs to be fixed. But otherwise he is a puppy that has settled in very well.
Baba loves him, he plays with him and was already used to children so that is fine. He has also brought out the lively side in Tito. Tito has always been a miserable dog, he likes his own space and is happy to be away from everyone all day every day. But Buddy has brought out his playful side, they play all day. They eat together, sleep together, (even though Buddy arrived with his own bed, he has gradually moved up onto Tito’s bed and they now sleep together on the top of the stairs). He has settled beautifully with Tito.
Tito does get fed up with him, after all he has 5 years on Buddy and is the big boy of the family, and he does let him know. A little bite of the ear seems to do it for Buddy and he then leaves Tito alone for a while and has learnt that means enough is enough. But generally Tito loves him and lets him do whatever he likes within reason.
