Book Number Three of 2020 – The Help

What can I say about The Help!

The third book I have read this year, and it was a book that I really wanted to read.

I have had it for a while but had a bit of a list to read before I could start this one.

Anyone that has read my blog knows my all time favourite book is To Kill A Mockingbird well The Help comes a hugely close second!

I loved this book from the moment I picked it up.

I loved reading about Aibileen, Skeeter and Minny, I loved the way the book was written. I loved their stories, their relationships and I don’t think I will ever look at pie again in the same way again.

I don’t want to give too much away.

But from the minute I picked the book up I didn’t want to put it down and three days later I am still thinking about it, even though I have started my next book.

It is very rare I will read a book again after I have read it once, there are a handful of books I have read more than once. Including Harry Potter books and To Kill A Mockingbird I have read many times.

The Help I would read again and again.

That is how much I loved it!

It is a lovely story of friendship, life in the 1960s in America for black and white women, and of barriers being broken. It is funny, sad, it has moments that are hard to read and moments that are tender.

It really is an amazing book.

And I really can’t wait to read it again one day.
