Beaches and Photography

I have been craving the beach all week if I am honest.

I have wanted to head to the beach and either go for a walk, or sit on it, I wasn’t really fussed I just wanted to go to the beach.

I suggested it a couple of times after school, but none of the boys were interested to go.

So yesterday after I dropped Boo at school I decided to pack the dogs into the car and head to the local dog friendly beach and take them for a walk there.

When we got there the actual car park was closed, and we didn’t have a lot of time allowed on the parking that was there, but it was long enough for the two of them and we had a lovely sunny, windswept walk along on the beach.

It was also a chance for me to take my lensball out and have a little play with it with my camera. I tried the other night and it was a bit of a fail as the light was going and none of the photos really worked.

I will be totally honest I have no idea what I am doing with this ball.

But it has always looked fun and quirky when I have seen photos with it that others have taken and have wanted one for a while.

And as I do with most other photography things related, I learn by just playing. I may try to actually learn a bit more technically after I have had the initial play. But at first I just play around with it.

And that is exactly what I did yesterday.

I do love the effect it has on photos.

I like that it makes them very unique and strange.

I am going to have to continue having a play to try to work out the best way to use this but from my first try I do like it and for not a lot of money, I did just get a cheap one online, it really wasn’t a wasted investment. It is something I will use.

But it was just what I needed to be honest.

A bit of me time, on the beach with the dogs, my camera and my lensball.

It may not be the kind of stuff my boys like to do. But it is definitely what I like to do.

And it definitely filled up my cup so to speak.

After our walk I felt a lot better, and calmer.

Even if the walk wasn’t in the direction I wanted to go, or for as long as I wanted it to be. It was just enough, to help me feel a bit better and a bit happier.

It was definitely what I needed and I am so glad I made the decision and went.

We really need to move to the seaside, I need to wake up with it next to us everyday I think!
