After School Clubs
Baba has never done any after school activities, being pregnant with Boo when he started school we decided that we wouldn’t get him enrolled in anything until Boo had arrived.
But as we have entered the second term of school, more and more children seem to be doing things after school, and it is something that has been on my mind for a few weeks now.
Baba doesn’t swim, but he still isn’t confident enough to go into the water without Mr L or I, and to be honest I am probably the worst person for him to go swimming with as I am not a confident swimmer myself. So we have started Baba going swimming with Mr L off a weekend while Boo and I sit in the cafe and I get a chance to read a book. Until he is more confident we are not going to bother with swimming lessons, as once Boo is able to go in the pool he will be in there too.
But we do want Baba to do something, he still has surplus energy some days and I think it would be good for him. I don’t want him to be full up all week and never have any time at home, but I think maybe one activity after school would be a good thing.
He is on the beavers list but we would like him to learn something new, so we are all in talks about what to do.
He isn’t a football mad child, so a football club is out of the question, however he has mentioned karate and music.
Two extremes and two completely different things.
But there is no point in sending him to something that he doesn’t want to do so we are looking into them, and seeing what is available and what we can find for him. And then seeing if he actually likes any of the things once he has started!
