A Reality Check
As normality is coming back it is time for us to have a bit of a reality check.
Before lockdown started last year and if you have followed the blog for a while you will know that Mr L and I had been doing Slimming World for a while.
And we had done will with it to be honest.
We had both lost a lot of weight near on 6 stone between us, we weren’t being silly about it we were just loosing the excess weight that we didn’t need to be carrying around with us.
Then lockdown happened, we didn’t have scales at home and we didn’t stick to the plan.
We just ate.
It really was all there was to do for a while.
Mr L loves food.
I eat because I have to but I love sweet things and I love to bake and it happened a lot.
The watching what we ate stopped.
But in the first lockdown we were outside a lot and we kind of stayed on an even keel.
Then the lockdown in the winter happened.
We ate, we weren’t outside.
And slowly but surely the weight has crept on and on.
We have both put on a lot of weight.
I don’t think either of us are actually back to the weight that we first started Slimming World with, however we are not far off it.
We knew it was happening and we kind of ignored it for a while.
Easter was coming there was going to be chocolate.
Then we were allowed in peoples gardens and there was going to be dinners.
But it has got to the point now were ignoring it can’t really keep happening.
We know need to do something about it again.
We need to slow down on the junk.
Eat a lot more healthier.
Eat a lot more sensibly and move more.
I am not sure either of wants to be back on a ‘diet’ really but we need something to reign us in.
As the junk food has just taken over, the chocolate is much nicer than the fruit and is much easier to grab and eat to be honest.
But we need to regain some self control.
At the moment even if I buy the decent food it doesn’t get eaten.
So we need something that will give us both a kick up the backside to be honest and get our head back into the game.
I am not sure what that will be but it needs to be something as we are both a bit fed up of how much we have put back on, clothes aren’t comfortable and we aren’t comfortable and that needs to change.
I am not really bothered about the weight but I want to be comfortable in what I wear and comfortable in what I am buying to wear.
So yes we need to change somethings.
Get out of this rut and make some plans for eating better, moving more, (which is hard for me I hate exercise with a vengence and actually cant think of anything worse.) Thinking about it makes me want to open the chocolate!
But we need to do some things to make a difference as we are not happy with the way things are at the moment.
Or the way things will carry on heading if we don’t step in and change it now!
