A Draining Week

It’s been a draining week and I have felt like I have been chasing my tail all week to be honest.

It’s been an accumulation of things to be honest.

Having a sick child.

Things to do in the house.

And ideas rolling around in my head but not actually having the time to start or process any of them.

The combination of them all meant that today I got to the point where I was just like no.

I have had enough.

I needed to step away from everything and just not think about any of it for a while.

I have so many things going around in my head that by the time I get to bed the lists keep swirling around and sleep becomes a nightmare.

I need to get on top of the information in my head.

I made a start today by getting the house back into a bit more of order so that I can brain dump the rest of the thoughts in my head in the morning and get some sort of structure back into my daily routine.

I think that is what I struggle with when I don’t have the same sort of structure when the boys are in school everything goes to pot.

And having one at home sick currently means I have not got the same structure at all.

Then I get in this trap of thinking of all the things that I have to be doing that I am not doing and then I can’t concentrate on any of the things. Instead I just run around like a headless chicken and actually don’t achieve anything at all.

And that’s where I have been for the last few days.

It’s a procrastination slump.

And this week I haven’t really achieved anything I have wanted to. Now I have a couple of days before the end of the week and a couple of days before the end of the month and I would like some things of my list.

So tomorrow I am hoping that as I have recognised it and made a bit of a start by having an organised house I will get more of the things I want done completed.
