A Baby Wearing Mumma
It really did creep up on me.
Baby wearing was something that I wanted to do with Baba, but it was something we never really got to grips with and to be honest we didn’t really need to. We brought a fab pushchair and with only one dog, we quickly mastered how to walk the dog and deal with the pushchair.
However I knew it was going to be different with Boo.
For starters we now have two dogs and walking the dogs with the pushchair is hard work.
I am also very aware that we won’t be having any more babies and baby wearing is something I really wanted to experience.
But I was still such a novice.
We brought a second-hand carrier and didn’t really get to grasp with it and I was beginning to think that this was a bit if a pipe dream and then Laura from Milk & Honey, Rocket & Bee brought a brilliant sling that I loved the look off. I quickly followed her advice and brought the same one.
I admit I didn’t overly use it at first, but as Boo has got bigger and is more sturdy being held it has crept up on me how much we actually use it.
I wanted a sling for dog walking, but over the last few months and more so the last few weeks I have been using it more and more. For the odd walk down the road, a quick trip around the supermarket and just for the normal things like cleaning the house, and for carrying the shopping in from the car.
Only last night Boo was quite tired and we had to get Mr L’s clothes for the wedding so we headed to Asda and instead of faffing with the trolley and ending up with a screaming baby, we decided to put him into the sling and I walked around the whole shop with him in that. I was able to feed him, and he was nice and peaceful the whole time.
I have to admit I really enjoy the comfort and closeness of baby wearing Boo.
He feels completely safe and so contented when he being carried and it is something that I would like to continue doing for much longer.
I now need to research some carriers for him as he gets older as he really enjoys it and I would love for Mr L to experience it with him as well. It will also make some future trips a lot easier if we can both carry him at some point.
Did you baby wear?
For how long?
What was your favourite carrier?
