Welcome The 5 Year Old
So it’s official, I have been living in denial all year.
When September arrived the denial got worse, if I didn’t think about it, it would never happen.
But unfortunately Mummy’s and Daddy’s can make a lot of things happen, we can’t however stop time.
It was inevitable.
It was just a matter of weeks once he started school.
But now it’s official we have a five-year old in the house.
Yesterday Baba turned five!
He has been so excited since he started school.
He has his own little countdown when October hits, where it is Daddy’s Nannies birthday, then his Aunties and then Mummy Nannies and his birthday. It was my sisters on Saturday and since then he has been waking up everyday asking if it is his birthday.
We have had a week-long celebration, that is still going on as we have a trip out tomorrow, that started last Saturday with a big family Chinese and all of his cousins and grandparents around. Wednesday he had a tea party and all of his Daddies side of the family celebrating with him. It was also the day that he got his main present from us, his bike, as the weather was good and we wanted him to have a chance to use it and he actually squealed with delight when he saw it, as he was told that we didn’t have enough money so it was a complete and utter surprise.
Yesterday was a full on day. It was the first time that we organised a birthday with school time included, and as it was Nannies 70th as well it was quite a big deal. So we decided to go up to my parents before school, so that he could have his breakfast and get to open all of his presents before he started school.
He loved his presents, and had a great time, and went to school full of beans with his chocolate cake for his class mates and his big 5 badge.
Last night he came home and we had a birthday meal with my parents to celebrate Baba turning 5 and mum turning 70.
He is a super tired boy today, he has gone to school but he is shattered. But happy. He went to sleep last night saying that he had the best birthday and get everything that he wanted, and to be honest what more could we do as parents.
We have a house full of Superhero Lego, Jumanji Lego, Star Wars Lego, and games galore, we have Kerplunk, Cluedo, Monster Operation, and Jenga and Trash Packs. We have motorised cars, a scooter, a bike and Nerf guns. So I think that he did super well. He also has enough money to get what he has wanted for the last year! But there will be more about that later on.
He had three cakes, and three parties, and has a day at Butlins as a family tomorrow. So I think even though we have been in denial all year, someone has had a super 5th birthday and one that he will remember for a while.
