Resisting

You scream and shout
You fight
You kick.
You cry
You shout for help.
If you only knew we not doing anything bad

We would never do anything bad.
We are only just trying to help
To make you better
To make it all go away.
This isn’t fun for us
You make Daddy mad
You make Mummy cry.

When we manage to stop you fighting externally
You start internally
You spit it out
You wretch
You make yourself sick.
You shout Yuck at us.

We know its yuck but its going to help
No one likes it but we all have to take it
We can not go through life like this.
You have to accept it

Mummy has cried enough tears
Daddy has got mad enough
You have fought enough
Just accept it
Take it wash it down,
Have your treat.
Please just take the medicine!
