One Day To Go
I have watched my Gran pass away I was in the room with her, nothing prepares you for it, nothing can and even though I have seen it happen once I don’t think I will ever be prepared for it again. My Gran had old age, she didn’t have a terminal illness, people you work with people with terminal illnesses are amazing people with amazing jobs. Walking angels I have been told.
I have had relatives and friends with terminal illnesses ones that have beaten it and ones who haven’t. Ones you have left grown up families, ones that have left young children. We have all been through some kind of heartache in our lives and that is why Mr L and I have gone a little mental and our walking 10 miles for our local hospice tomorrow St Wilfrid’s you can sponsor us here.
We have known some amazing dear people that have been cared for until the end at St Wilfrid’s and it is a place that I am proud to support and I know it was the wishes of some wonderful people who have touched our lives that are no longer with us.
Looking at the weather outside I think we are participating in the Moonlight Walk in the rain! It is going to be hard work, I don’t think I have ever walked ten miles in my life, not in one hit. It is probably going to be cold, wet and my hay fever may be a complete and utter nightmare, but we are both determined to do it! It is a cause that is close to both our hearts.
We only have a matter of hours now to be precise 39 hours from when this post is posted until when we are at the start line. It isn’t long but it is enough time to get some more sponsors in, I know that people don’t have loads of money but just a couple of pounds from everyone could make a huge difference to this hospice! The running costs for the hospice are £14,000 a day and only 15% of that is funded everything else is from donated funds and fundraising. So please do support us, so when we are walking around the town in the dead of the night and think that we can go on no more, we can think of all the money we have raised and that will encourage us to give it that final push to complete the course so that we can help to keep this fantastic service going, just a click here and a couple of minutes of your time will help. Thank you

Good for you, well done for doing it. It’s appalling the lack of financial support hospices get. Where would we all be without them, they do a fantastic job! X
It is so bad isn’t it, the work they all do is fantastic and they just don’t get the backing at all xx
