Meal Planning Monday

We have been super bad with our eating habits, basically we have eaten utter rubbish for weeks.

So to get on top of that last week, before our shop on Friday I did a meal plan to work with for the rest of the week. As we know how to eat well, we know what we should be doing to eat better, we just haven’t been doing it.

And the weight has crept back on, and this isn’t about the weight really, but because the weight has crept back on we all feel a bit rubbish.

It is time to change all that, and to actually all feel a bit better about ourselves.

So this week the meal plan is simple but proper homemade meals rather than quick rubbish substitutes.

We actually started the meal plan on Friday and had some sausage plaits, which were made with some sausage meat, herbs, onions and rolled in a wrap and cooked in the oven. Mr L and BB loved these, I liked them Boo was not impressed but he tried them which was a miracle in itself to be honest.

Saturday we had steak fajitas, fajitas are always a hit in this house and actually we generally do them with chicken but I fancied changing them up this time. So we went with steak instead and they were a massive hit. Everyone loved them including Boo, and he isn’t generally a steak lover at all so that was something we will definitely be doing again.

Last night we had a change to the roast chicken and actually had a BBQ instead. Which wasn’t on the list but was gorgeous anyway.

So tonight we will be dropping the cheese pot pies and will be having the roast chicken this evening instead. This will be a roast with all the trimmings as we haven’t actually had a roast for weeks now and it is a firm favourite in our house so it is going to be a good one this evening.

We then have homemade pizzas which I am sure the boys will love doing and a stir fry and lasagne bowls for the rest of the week before we do our next shop on Friday.

I am hoping we will get back into sync with doing meal plans as we definitely need to be a bit more organised this term with food as once the kids are back to school we will be having five clubs between them each week as well as school and I want to be more sorted for all the clubs, and am also thinking I would like to give them some hot meals for their lunches this term along with Mr L taking some hot meals to work as well as the months get more colder.
