Happy Confident Me Journal Review #review

We were given a Happy Confident Me Journal for BB to review. All of these views are our own #ad #review

I am a strong believer in gratitude and journaling to be honest.

I often have a journal going and I love to write a gratitude journal. Nothing too complicated just three things I am grateful for that day.

Sometimes they are big things, sometimes they are small things.

But they are always things that I am grateful for and that have helped my day be easier and have made me smile through the day.

It is also something that I think is very important for our children.

Filling out a gratitude journal is amazing for your mental health and is something that I think can really help people.

So when we were asked if BB would like to review the Happy, Confident, Me Journal I knew I couldn’t say no.

It was just perfect for us and in this crazy world at the moment it was the most perfect thing for BB as well.

And actually after all the news he has had to deal with this week I think it was good timing we had this journal.

The journal is so bright and happy looking.

It is easy to read, simple but gets the point across and makes it very easy for any child to read and to understand the concept of this journal.

And it has a lot of space for children to write in every day.

Journaling isn’t something that BB has ever really been into. He has tried it a couple of times, but hasn’t ever really continued it for a very long time.

He was quite interested in this journal though and sat down and had a read of it and a look through before he started using it.

He said it seemed quite simple and he took just a few minutes to sit down and fill out his first page.

And he has continued it over the last few days.

He actually chooses to write in it first thing in the morning, so writes about his previous day as soon as he wakes up.

Meaning that he generally starts the day off with some good feelings before he gets going with the rest of his day.

Filling out the different ways he has felt today and the three things he is grateful doesn’t take him very long.

He does spend longer on the other questions, thinking what he likes about himself, how he was kind, who made him laugh etc.

But he does fill them out and I love seeing his responses.

Mainly because they are things he would never tell us face to face, and it actually takes him time to think about it so it is really what he thinks.

Seeing what he is grateful for is so interesting as well. This week we have been in isolation so his list is small but it is full of family, animals, food, etc and I am hoping the more he uses this journal he may begin to write more and more for each section.

It is a great book for children between 7 – 12 years old, BB is at the older end of this range being 11 and a half, but it is still a great tool for him.

As it is quick and simple it isn’t a chore, and the book only has ten weeks of journal pages in, it isn’t long lasting meaning it is something that he can do quickly and easily. And I absolutely love the fact that he is pulling his feelings to the front of his brain daily to work out he has felt throughout the day.

I also love that he thinks about what is good around him, what he is grateful for, and the things he is proud off, who has made him laugh, who has been kind to him etc.

All of these things focus on positive things in his life, and life is hard emotion wise as a preteen.

Life is exceptionally mental at this precise moment in time and I am really pleased he has a place to focus on the good, on the good around him and the good within him.

There are also spaces in the book to do a weekly activity and spaces to just doodle and scribble away, which is great for a bit of creativity.

The journal is aiming to promote increased happiness, self-confidence, optimism, pride, resilience and gratitude within the children. And I really think it can achieve that. For just a few minutes each day.

I actually love this journal so much I am going to order another for Boo as I think it would be fantastic for him too!

You can buy the journal from amazon for £9.99 here.
