Garden Project Again
We have lived in this house for 6 years now, and ever since we moved in we have been working on the garden.
But we aren’t really getting anywhere!
When we first arrived the garden was slabbed, and had a huge fig tree that was literally taking over the garden the roots were everywhere and it took ages to get rid of the tree. It was a mammoth task and did take forever, the tree was so huge that the roots had completely uprooted the fences in the garden.
We got rid of it eventually, and then started the first attempt of grass.
To date we have had three attempts at laying grass, and not one of them have taken. We have tried decking and we also have tried a bit of gravel.
Nothing has really worked.
We currently have a garden that has two sheds, one brick and one tin, the tin one is full of our stuff including Baba’s baby swing, mower etc. The brick one we can’t do much with it has to stay, however it is full of rubbish and most of the rubbish was in there when we arrived. So we are very reluctant to get in there and really sort it although it has to be done.
We have broken decking, we have gravel down the end, that was where the dogs were supposed to go and do their business, Tito has this nailed, Buddy not so! And a ‘garden’ (grass area) that is just a pile of mud as it seems Buddy likes to dig grass. We have two hutches, and two runs, one being broke so that needs to be gone. We have one fence completely broke and to be honest one of the hutches and runs is actually supporting the broken fence! We also have broken and dangerous decking, as soon as it rains it is a slip hazard and lots of the panels are bending.
We have wrecked garden furniture, all the plants are dead, the pots have been overturned and the only thing that seems ok is Baba’s slide. However he can’t get out there to go on it.
The garden has literally become the place that is just used by the dogs, no one else wants to or would even dare to go in it, and it is a really depressing place to be.
We are on a mission we really want to get it sorted. But none of us are really sure where to even start. We are trying to get some ideas together, some plans and have all the bits needed to completely and utterly blitz the place over the Easter Weekend. As that is about the only time that we will have.
I would love for Baba to be able to go out there and play.
I want a garden that is great for the dogs, for us to chill in and for Baba to play and explore in.
I want to be able to grow some vegetables, have some fun out there and basically just enjoy it.
We could almost get in the bulldozers and take it all down to be honest, and then start again. That is what needs to be done. But we don’t have that kind of ability but something does need to be sorted, and this year for the last time, we will be sorting out the garden!
