Face Masks
So why I have been at home with the boys one thing I have done is make us all some fabric masks.
I was convinced that we would all need them at some point so decided to make us all one ready for when we do.
I had looked at them and thought they wouldn’t be that hard to make so I hit you tube to try to find some patterns and came across this video
It seemed to be a simple process so I decided to give it a go, and actually it is very easy to do and I have managed to make four masks relatively easily.
Only messing one up!

We all have crazy patterns mickey mouse, dumbo, Harry Potter and superhero masks.

As it was the only fabric that I had.
But they all work and I brought the fabric for us and they are definitely being made for us.
And luckily I found a little stash of elastic as well for all the masks.
I was a bit worried about Boo wearing a mask and how it would fit as the video was an adult mask size and I was concerned I would have to jig around with the elastic and I don’t have a huge amount spare.
But then after doing a little research I saw children wearing masks and using the backs of their baseball hats to put the elastic around.
I tried it and it worked perfectly.
So I didn’t have to try to change them and jig them about as I really like sewing but I am not that good at it.
So easier is better!
We haven’t yet had the children with either of us if we need to go to the shop yet, managing with just one of us going in and leaving the boys at home with the other one. But I feel happier that if it has to happen at least they both have masks now.
And if you are contemplating making some for your family the video above really is a great, simple and easy one to follow and they really a genuinely made within a few minutes once they are cut out.
