Embracing The Silence
I have changed my Tropic feed on social media a little bit and each day I post about specific things so we have a Tropic Tuesday, and a Social Saturday and on a Monday it is Mindful Monday.
Today I did my usual post about it being Mindful Monday and talked about embracing the silence!
This is something I have been really doing a lot of in this lockdown.

I am not doing anything fancy but just at some point in the day, really appreciating the silence around me.
Which I admit can be hard some days as having both the kids, and hubby about, and the dogs the house is generally loud, even if they are getting on, actually that can be when it is the loudest.
So trying to find a moment, when it really is quiet really can be challenging.
But I have been making sure that I do at times just sit and appreciate the stillness and the world as it is now, all quiet and calm, without sounding to out there.
Whether that is getting up a little earlier than everyone else, sitting in the garden when they are all indoors, or going to another room for a few minutes, or staying up a bit later than everyone else. Or even when we are walking the dogs when all the chatter stops to just listen to the stillness.
Something inside me tells me it is really important to notice it at the moment.
Maybe it is because this is the first time in our lifetime, that we have ever been this slow.
Maybe it is because I know things will be changing from how they used to be.
Maybe it is for my own sanity.
I don’t know but I just know I need to take notice of the quietness.
The stillness.
The silence of it all.
I need to acknowledge it all.
It makes me feel calmer.
It makes me feel more at ease.
And at the moment I think things that help in doing that are vital.
So I am certainly going to keep on doing it.
Keep on noticing those moments and keep on enjoying them.
I definitely think they are keeping me a little more level headed than I would be if I didn’t just take a breather to appreciate the stillness, and the silence every once in a while.
