Christmas Is Coming
So you know what we are finally getting there!
All the presents are brought, all the cards are brought and at long last later than most years the decorations are up! But this year we have excelled ourselves and actually have two trees. As Mr L promised Baba that he could decorate the tree, now sometimes I seriously think that Mr L does not know me at all! I don’t even let him decorate the tree so I don’t know why he would think that I would let a three-year old decorate my tree.
Now I love my child with all my heart but there are rules in our house, only I do the Christmas tree no one else just me, I wait until everyone is out of the house, and get cracking! I have a certain way of doing it and I don’t like other people to get involved. So this year when Baba was told that he could decorate the tree I had to do some serious thinking, it was time to get out the old tree. The small white one, the one that we first owned and to raid my mums decoration box for a few more decorations and some lights.
We were very lucky as mum had a few of my Nans old decorations that she really didn’t like, beads instead of tinsel and flicking lights that she hated so we managed to gain some decorations on a long-term basis as well which was even better.
Baba was really excited and I had to just bring the tree down and take no notice of what him and Mr L were doing, I didn’t want to see. The carnage that was happening in the kitchen as this is where the second tree is. They were literally just putting any decorations any where and I had to just bite my lip and let them get on with it.
At the end of the decorating Baba was so happy, and he loves his tree, he goes and turns the lights on every morning and has great fun selecting the setting that he wants the lights to be on. It is his pride and joy.
As for me we have a tree that is very organised that you see as you walk in the house, and around the corner we have one that Christmas has puked on! Although it isn’t that awful, but I am glad that it isn’t my main tree I may be a little heartbroken about that!
Pictures will follow soon!
Who does your Christmas tree? Do you let your children take control?
