Chocolate Cake in a Cup

I have heard about this lots and read it on various blogs, but have never remembered to actually try it.

Yesterday Baba wanted a cake and I really couldn’t be bothered to make a full on cake, and I remembered the cake in the cup that I had been reading about. A quick search on the internet and we had the recipe and where raring to go.

Ingredients

4 Tablespoons of flour

4 Tablespoons of sugar

2 Tablespoons of cocoa, we used hot chocolate as we always do

1 Egg

3 Tablespoons of oil

3 Tablespoons of Milk

Large Cup

Method:

Put all the ingredients in the cup, and mix together well.

Put the cup in the microwave and cook for 2 mins 45 secs.

Take out and let it cool.

Eat and enjoy.

This was a great way to make a cake, and Baba could do it all. He has his own little measuring cups and was able to put everything in them with a little help from me. There wasn’t too much in the cup so that he was able to mix it all up himself unlike when making a bigger cake, as he always finds it too hard to mix himself. He loved being able to mix it all up himself.

The timing was also great as Baba didn’t get bored waiting in less than 3 minutes, rather than waiting for a bigger cake to cook.

The cake was hot when it came out of the microwave, but it cooled down quickly and it was plenty big enough for Baba and I to share and it was really yummy. We both really enjoyed it.

We will be making this again, and it is a great thing for a quick cake fix.
