BBQ

Yesterday Baba and I took on the mammoth task of building a BBQ.

I thought that it was going to be hell,  but it actually wasn’t that bad. We had a little stress when Baba took of the sticker which was telling me the back from the front, and he couldn’t understand why it had to be there so got very upset about it. But apart from that he was a little star helping.

He held the poles that made the base, he passed all the screws and bolts over and had a fab time being involved.

I was so impressed that we managed to make, it but was a little concerned that it seemed a bit shaky. Although for what we paid for it I don’t think we can really complain. Once it was all together it wasn’t that bad and actually stood outside OK.

I was really impressed, having never built a BBQ before and Baba was very excited about having a BBQ tea, so as soon as we finished we went down town to get some gas. Here was a biggest problem, we got spoken too like we were stupid at the local shop as we asked for some gas and they asked if we had an old one. When I said no they flatly and quite rudely told me that I wouldn’t be getting any gas from there as they only sell it to you if you have an old one. Well I am sorry there was no sign saying this and I felt about 2 inches tall the way that they spoke to me. I was really disgusted and when we manage to get our own bottle of gas we will not be getting a new one from there again!

We didn’t think we were going to get any yesterday and Baba was really upset as Mr L wasn’t sure what he was getting so he couldn’t pick any up on the way home. Luckily we managed to borrow some gas from some family, so we were able to have our first ever BBQ at home on an actual BBQ not just a throw away!

It was lovely as well, Baba ate well and it was great to sit outside and eat. We decided to take the cover off the patio and put it on the BBQ just to be safe not thinking it would rain but not wanting to wreck the BBQ if it did. Waking up this morning I am glad that we did it, as the sun has gone and the rain has settled in. So I think we were lucky to have our BBQ yesterday lets hope it is not the only one this year?
