A New Tent

The sun is shining, and the day has all been focused about being in the garden and running in and out of the boys new tent.

This year especially this summer I am really focused on the boys just being boys. No stress and just making memories.

Baba has never been a child to go and play outside, mainly because he is so fair, ginger, and full of hay fever, it is one of the reasons why both Mr L and I have really supported his love of the garden and learning to garden as it means that he goes outside regularly and actually is starting to enjoy being outside.

However Boo is the absolute opposite. From the minute he wakes up to the minute he goes to bed he wants to be outside, and he really doesn’t care about the weather, rain or shine he is there.

Mr L has been working massively in the garden, and I have been trying to think out of my comfort zone to try to have both the boys happy in the garden. Baba has his greenhouse and Boo has his toys but I am fully aware that our garden literally has no shade at all. So I have to bring Boo in at certain times, and after a while Baba comes in as he is too hot and bothered. Today I went searching.

Mr L has been trying to get me to go camping for years, which is a complete no no, but he even brought a little tent to try to convince me, today I found it and put it up in the corner of the garden.

It is small enough not to take too much of the garden up, but big enough that the boys can get a little shade from the bright sunshine.

It means Boo can have a breather, and Baba can also chill out, or knowing him like I do can curl up with a book, or notebook and some pens and do some drawings or reading. So even if he doesn’t want to be out, he can be out but chilling in the tent.

I thought it would be a hit, but it was a massive hit.

Boo has been in and out all day long, and Baba has taken a shine to it as well, so much so that his teddy has been given pride of place in the tent.

Tomorrow I am going to add some cool pillows and covers to make it comfy inside and a nice little haven for them when the weather is good and the sun is out and a little shade is needed.

A little place for memories to be made, and the children to just be kids this summer.
