A Little Nature Goes A Long Way – Building Memories
We are surrounded by fields, and nature spots.
We drive past this pond regularly, but I never really take much notice. It’s a pond that Mr L used to stop at with his parents and fed the fish.
It is something that he has always promised to do with Baba.
Today he fulfilled his promise.
We drove past the pond, and decided to get some bread and drive back. Baba was so excited.
He literally was bouncing in the car. It’s amazing the simplest of things make him so excited.
Once we got there we had a little incident with the goose, that started to hiss at us and follow us. I am not sure if the birds were baby geese or just a selection of birds but wherever one went they all seemed to go.

It was a quick jump in the car and move to the other end of the pond, hiding from the goose and finally being able to feed the fish.

Baba found a little nook to stand in and throw his bread in waiting for the fish to eat it.
It was lovely being back in the car with Boo while he was sleeping watching a magical Daddy and Son moment between Mr L and Baba.

A moment of chatting.
Of knowledge being passed from Daddy to son.
Knowledge passed to Mr L from his Dad and it was lovely to see it being passed down again
Baba learning and hanging on to every word Mr L was telling him

It’s a simple thing, a free thing but a thing that Baba will always remember.
The fish were getting closer.

Eventually we moved around the pond a little and found the big fish.
It was the fish that Mr L told Baba about, that near on jumped out of the water to grab the food.

They splashed and moved and sucked their food in, you could hear the noise they were that loud. All to get to the bread first. Baba was in heaven watching them, spotting them and shouting at his Daddy when he was seeing them.
It wasn’t long we were there, it wasn’t a big thing that we did and it was free, but memories were made.
Ones were repeated, the things Mr L did with his parents he repeated today with his son.
And I am sure in years to come when Baba drives past this pond there will be one day when he passes the memories on.
That is what childhood is all about!
Enjoying the simple things
Spending that one moment with your parents making a memory.
A moment that will last forever.
A memory that you can pass on!

As parents it’s lovely to pass on some cherished moments and memories with your own children. The simplest things are often the best and most treasured, thanks for linking up and sharing yours with Country Kids.
The simpliest things really are the things that Baba loves the most. Makes you come back to reality really all they want is your undevoted attention xx
