I absolutely adore papercuts, it is something I have tried in the past, but really is something that takes a lot of time and a lot of skill so when I was offered to have a papercut review from Cara-Lou Cuts on the blog I jumped at the chance. As I really do love the effect of them and as it was for a mum run craft business I loved the idea even more as I love to support small businesses and help them get their business out there.
The whole process of ordering the papercut was easy and so simple to do, Emma is such a nice lady and so easy to talk to and discuss your ideas with.
She showed me the things she could make and let me decide on a design for our family.
I knew that I wanted a funny saying and that I wanted something that included, all of us, including Rhianna as we can never have a photo with all of us, but a papercut was a different story.
I decided on a little saying “Don’t be normal, be a Limbrick” and told her that this was what I wanted, to be honest that is as far as I thought.
However Emma suggested a picture underneath, and I straight away said stars as that is always what we associate with Rhianna and then she would be included. Emma said that she had a family picture that could be used and after some more conversation we decided that this was the best way forward and the picture would be adapted to include a mum, dad, two boys and one girl. Emma messaged over the final picture before she cut it and I made a change of a star, so that only the little girl had the star, and she said she would come back when the cut was finished.
And low and behold, it was done in a day. I was super impressed and seriously shocked I assumed I would be waiting a week possibly two to get the final picture of the cut done but it was all sorted. And it was perfect.
Through messaging and pictures we decided on a background colour for the cut, and decided on a frame colour. By the next week I had the frame in my hands.
The whole experience was a really simple, smooth and fun experience to have.
Emma was easy to talk to, and listened, which is so important when you are ordering personalised items. She was really approachable, and took on board everything that I said and suggested ideas and was happy whether you said yes or no to them.
Her website is easy to use, lovely to look at and I could easily see the work that she had done previously and what she could offer me as a personalised option.
For the service you get and the product you get at the end the pricing is very good and isn’t at all over priced this papercut would be £42 and I know a lot of work goes into it and I would happily pay for another in the future.
