Since embracing the idea of clean eating, we seem as a family to embrace this beauty.
We have had this steamer for years, and used it a lot when Baba was small, and it did then just get put away, only to be brought back out for Boo, as he is now eating as well.
But I suddenly had an idea, that actually I could use this a lot more. So once I found the instructions and realised that actually you can cook meat, fish, eggs, rice, veg and fruit in it I realised that I could do most of our meals in one place.
Super easy, and steaming is super healthy.
Once it is prepared and in there I don’t have to worry about, I can walk away leave it to steam and have some quality time with Baba and Boo.
So it is a win situation really.
Today I thought I would start easy, having never used the steamer for meat. We went with Chicken.
The only thing that I had to remember was to lay the chicken flat so that it could all cook evenly.
I then chopped up a lot of carrot and broccoli to add to the chicken.
I also cooked Mr L and Baba some rice to go with their food and to make it a little larger meal.
I put all the food into the steamer for 35 mins and cracked on with spending some time with the children.
Once the food was cooked and the steamer beeped away to let me know it was finished, I cut up the chicken and sprinkled it with a little soya sauce, and that was my meal finished.
I thought it was lovely, Mr L said that it was lovely, and Baba seemed to wolf it down so all in all it was a great easy clean eating meal that I was able to do it all in one place which is less washing up and much easier to deal with, with two children around you at 5pm.
