Last night Baba got a temperature.
As the night went on his temperature got worse, and by this morning he had a temperature of 38.9 and had three rigors in his sleep.
He was really poorly and it was instant, he had been to school, we had been to the Christmas Street Party and he was having fun, playing with his friends. But then he got ill.
Today we had to get him to the out of hours doctors, and yet again he has another ear infection.
It seems whenever Baba is ill he gets bad ears, it has been an ongoing saga, forever really, but over the last year it seems to have got a lot worse.
He has had a few cases of glue ear over the last year, and that has led to him complaining that he can’t hear and going for hearing tests. The first test came back fine. The second test, after more glue ear, came back inconclusive. Baba’s ears are perfectly healthy, but he clearly can’t hear sounds under a certain level. So he has to go back in March for another test to see what is going on with his hearing.
But until then it seems we are battling ear infections, one after the other.
He hasn’t had one like this with such a high temperature for a while. In fact he has been pretty good with his temperature, but last night was like being back with him as a child and keeping a regular eye on his temperature and watching him and keeping an eye on the rigors and how his temperature was going.
We are hoping that a night of the antibiotics will hit the infection on the head and he will be better for the last week of school this week!
