At the beginning of the year I had a blood test for my sugar one that I have every year, but this year it was a little higher than it usually is so they sad that I had to go back in 6 months time. I knew then that I needed to start focusing on a healthier me but to be honest I thought about it and didn’t do much about it.

Last week I wasn’t very well, I had a horrible cold and ended up with a sinus infection and actually ended up seeing the same doctor I saw six months ago, and my blood test was mentioned again. This weekend Mr L and I had a long talk about our diet and the way we have been living our life and it hasn’t been great at all. So this weekend we decided we both had to change.

Yesterday we went for a huge food shop and filled our fridge and freezer and the whole kitchen with healthy food, food that we can make meals with from fresh and healthy snacks that we can all snack on throughout the day.

So for now I am going to try to blog about my food and drink for a little while so that I can actually see what I am eating and drinking and hopefully start to get on top of everything that I am eating.

So today I started with a plan, a plan to eat well and healthy and drink enough for the day.

Breakfast: I had a Banana smoothie, made with almond milk, one banana, a little honey and a dash of cinnamon.

Snack: Apple

Lunch: Turkey breast, mozzarella, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, sweetcorn, snap peas, cucumber, a little grated cheddar and a small dollop of mayonnaise, a small handful of pringles and for pudding I had a banana and natural yoghurt

Snack: A breakfast biscuit in the afternoon and I had an Oreo

Dinner: Toast with mushrooms and a fried egg and an orange

Drink: 1.5 litre of water and a couple of glasses of fruit juice.

So all in all a good day.

I didn’t do any exercise today as I am still shattered from when I was poorly last week and I don’t want to push myself too far with everything until I feel 100% better but I do feel like it was a good day. Yes I have had a couple of biscuits but it is a lot better than it used to be and I am pleased with how I have eaten today.
